Warranty Policy

Last update: 26-06-2026

Overview

At My Machines, we provide high-quality, open-source digital fabrication hardware for makers around the world. This warranty policy reflects our commitment to transparency, personal responsibility, and long-term support for our community.

1. Warranty Coverage (Parts-Only Warranty)

All hardware parts and components sold directly by My Machines are covered by a limited parts-only warranty, which applies exclusively to manufacturing defects in materials under normal and intended use.

  • Strict Boundary: This warranty does not extend to the assembly, installation, calibration, or overall performance of the final assembled machine.
  • User Responsibility: My Machines does not warrant workmanship or final assembly. Responsibility for correct installation, mechanical assembly, electrical wiring (including mains voltage wiring), firmware configuration, and safe operation lies entirely with the end-user. Damage resulting from improper, faulty, or negligent assembly is not covered.

2. Warranty Periods

  • Private Customers within the European Union (EU): In accordance with EU consumer protection laws, private consumers benefit from the statutory legal warranty period against manufacturing defects, starting from the date of delivery.
  • B2B Customers (Enterprises) and Rest of the World: A limited 1-year warranty applies to manufacturing defects in components, starting from the date of delivery.

3. What’s Covered

This warranty applies strictly to individual My Machines parts that:

  • Were purchased directly from our official website (my-machines.com) or an authorized dealer.
  • Exhibit a clear material or manufacturing flaw (a defect in the material itself or factory machining prior to any operational stress).
  • Fail or break during normal and intended use within the designated warranty period.

4. What’s NOT Covered (Critical Exclusions)

The following items, parts, and circumstances are expressly excluded from warranty coverage:

  • Consumable or Wear-Prone Parts (unless proven to be defective in material immediately upon opening the packaging):
    • Print nozzles, heatbreaks, and heater blocks.
    • Drive belts and idler pulleys.
    • Bearings and polycarbonate/V-slot wheels.
    • PTFE tubing.
    • Linear rails and carriages (if damaged due to lack of lubrication or introduction of workshop dust/debris).
    • Build surfaces and heated beds (e.g., PEI sheets scratched, gouged, or damaged by misaligned nozzles).
    • Lubricants, tapes, and adhesives.
  • Third-Party Components: Any component, motor, controller board, or electronic element not sold directly by My Machines or purchased from external suppliers.
  • Human Error and Modifications: Damage caused by dropping components in the workshop, over-tightening screws (crushing components), reversed electrical polarity connections, short circuits due to poor wiring, mains voltage fluctuations, or unauthorized structural modifications to the original machine design.

5. How to Initiate a Warranty Claim

If you detect a part with a manufacturing defect, you must stop assembly or operation immediately and follow these steps:

  1. Send an email directly to support@my-machines.net.
  2. Required Information: Include your Order Number (or invoice), a clear description of the technical issue, and sharp photographs or videos demonstrating the component's defect or failure.
  3. Evaluation: Our engineering team will review the provided evidence. We may request additional diagnostic tests or troubleshooting steps before validating the claim.

6. Resolution of Approved Claims

If a component is confirmed to have a legitimate manufacturing defect within the warranty period, My Machines undertakes to:

  • Send an identical or equivalent replacement part at no cost to the customer.
  • In rare and complex cases where partial replacement or repair is not feasible, we may choose to replace the entire product package or issue store credit.

7. Out-of-Warranty & Community Support

The maker spirit is built on autonomy. Even after the warranty period expires or in cases of damage not covered by warranty (such as an assembly error), My Machines never abandons its users:

  • All our technical documentation, open-source schematics, Bill of Materials (BOM), and calibration guides remain completely free and accessible at any time on the Site.
  • Our community channels (such as our official Discord server and forums) are always available to help you troubleshoot, diagnose problems, and find replacement parts so you can upgrade or repair your machine yourself.
